Just search a word and you can find almost anything in any museum that has public databases of art.
For the most part, everything is Public Domain. But you can and should check just to be safe.

Just found this thread. I am a very slow and bad reader but I love reading so comics and graphic novels are how I get to read without having to reread pages over and over again. I've got a lot of favorites, most of them not superheroes or from Marvel/DC. Descender is great sci-fi, followed by Ascend...

Oh yeah, the Library of Congress is a great resource. Works created by the U.S. Government are not eligible for copyright protection and are considered public domain, so I used photographs from the Farm Security Administration aftermath of the Great Depression https://www.loc.gov/pictures/collection...

I love unsplash, but I use https://www.rawpixel.com/ to get Public Domain art that isn't photography. They have a filter for public domain and you can dig through tons and tons of art that's free to use.
