#Dungeon23
The creator of Mothership, Sean McCoy, posted a challenge-project over on his substack.
Essentially, you build a megadungeon one day at a time, adding a room each day and a level each month. He's also included an optional list of weekly themes, similar to inktober.
Anyone else interested in this? I've never made a megadungeon before, but I'm excited to see what I come up with.

I am going to try my darndest to do it, trying to decide on a genre. I'm not a dungeon person usually so I'm excited about trying. We should share updates on here!

Re: #Dungeon23
I've been giving the theme a lot of thought. I kindof want to do something for my mecha jam game, but I want to respect the important qualities of a mega-dungeon. Some of my initial instincts were just to create a node graph of connected interesting locations -- like the solar system -- but I think I can make something more dungeon-like for mechs.
Either way I'll definitely post updates here. We could have a week-by-week review of our progress.

I'm torn between a classic fantasy dungeon and something sci Fi. I think I might try to do both, one starting at the front of my book and one starting at the end. Maybe they meet in the middle.Serket wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 7:29 pm I've been giving the theme a lot of thought. A mech sized dungeon, whether it was built for mechs or for giant aliens, sounds amazing!

I think I’m going to be doing this for ANOINTED because it’s a game that needs a ton of content to be played solo/GMless. 1 Region per month.
Big ol’ battleground megacity/urban planet/etc. Each month make a district with 28-31 things going on in it, enemy patrols, features, etc.Serket wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 7:29 pm I've been giving the theme a lot of thought. I've been having a lot of fun doing this so far. Since ttrpg design is just a hobby for me, it's fun having a little thing I can just poke at every day without having to think about it too hard. I've been thinking about the video game series Zork a lot so I'm doing something inspired by that. Who knows if any of the humor in it will be any good but we'll see. I'm not doing too much with it so it should be easy to ignore if it doesn't land.

Re: #Dungeon23
I really goofed by not starting with everyone's favorite type of level design, sewers. I haven't been posting them on mastodon/cohost because everyone seems to be a better artist than I am but I'm having fun. I think if I do ever publish this I'll have to edit down stuff and do a revision of other parts but it will be fun to see everything people made by the end of the year.

If it makes you feel better, this is the level of "art" I'm working with.
